NZ Royal Commission Experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic
This project began with an existing logo and brand tohu (pattern). From this, additional colours, image treatments, document layouts, as well as typographic and graphic treatments were created.
The empathetic round shapes give a subtle and compassionate sentiment to the document. Gradations of colour soften the pages and provide a sensitive atmosphere which compliment the nature of the subjects covered through the experiences of New Zealander’s during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This concept focuses on the individuality of New Zealander’s. Highlighting their locations allows people to feel a tangible sense of connection to others near and far from them, but also gives insight into how someone’s whereabouts impacted their experience of the pandemic.
The people of Aotearoa are connected together as this document facilitates empathy for those not usually within our circles, and makes the people who contributed feel they are heard. This allows New Zealander’s to be informed on the wide range of topics covered, and therefore help to give them context when forming key opinions on the Government and their actions.
